Pallet rack configurator
Define the warehouse, generate the pallet rack for its load, place it in the space; get a priced bill of materials and a PDF report.
How it works
Pallet racking configurator: from warehouse plan to priced quote
This demo is a browser-based layout and pricing tool for selective pallet racking. Draw the warehouse floor or upload a DXF plan, define the rack type for your pallets and loads, and fill the area with aisles that suit your forklift. Every change re-runs the rules; pallet positions, the bill of materials and the price update instantly.
- 01
Warehouse area
Draw the floor to size or upload a DXF plan. Columns, zones such as dispatch and charging, doors and ceiling height are part of the plan; racks stay out of them.
- 02
Rack type
Choose the pallet size, number of levels, pallets per bay and load. Frame height, beam length and depth follow from these choices; combinations that do not fit cannot be selected.
- 03
Layout
Pick the truck: pallet jack, counterbalance forklift, reach truck or VNA. Aisle width follows the truck; "Fill area" places rows around columns and zones.
- 04
Outputs
Pallet position count, a priced bill of materials, a PDF quote with plan and elevations, a shareable project link and a 3D model.
Rules it checks
- A 75 mm clearance is kept between pallets and next to uprights; pallets that do not fit the bay raise a warning.
- Single rows with a high height-to-depth ratio should be back-to-back or tied to a wall; above a ratio of 6 anchoring and manufacturer approval are required.
- If pallets overhang the beams by more than 100 mm front or back, a deeper frame is recommended.
- In back-to-back rows the row spacer is widened to suit the rear overhang.
- Aisle width is set by the selected truck; columns, zones and door fronts stay clear.
- Upright protectors and end barriers are recommended for row ends exposed to forklift impact.
Who is it for?
Rack manufacturers and dealers, logistics companies planning warehouses, and their sales teams: anyone who wants to see the layout and the cost together in the first meeting and cut the back-and-forth before a quote.
Dimensions, rules and prices in the demo are sample values. Your own configurator uses your product catalogue, production rules and price list.
Frequently asked questions
How is the DXF file used?
The file is read in the browser and never sent to a server. The largest closed outline becomes the floor and small closed shapes inside it become columns; layer names separate columns from zones, and you can correct them on the plan.
Does it do structural calculations?
No. The demo checks layout and geometry rules; load capacity and seismic design must be done by the manufacturer's engineering team.
Can I compare trucks and aisle widths?
Yes. Changing the truck rebuilds the aisles and the layout, so you see the difference in pallet positions and price on the same screen.
Can it be adapted to our racking system?
Yes. Your frame and beam options, production rules, pricing and quote template are built into the configurator.
